Another Kind of Scholarship

Another Kind of Scholarship

Largest Heart August 1
Another kind of scholarship
Introduction
Henry is a gifted high school student. He participates in an internship where he shadows a cardiovascular surgeon regularly. He is an honor roll student, tutors his peers and has been the leader of the boys' basketball team for three years. Henry was also the lead choreographer of his school's musical last year.

Recently, and not surprisingly, Henry won a scholarship for further education. His future is rosy.

There are hundreds of Henrys.

Good for them!

We applaud them. We don’t begrudge them the opportunities they so deserve, because they work hard to get what they want.

But then …

But, unfortunately, there is also another side to the coin.

There are thousands of students and young people not so fortunate.

Yes, perhaps they made mistakes. They did not work as hard. They made choices that weren't good for them and sent them down a down-spiraling path of depression or addiction.

They fell through the cracks of society. There are no scholarships that can help them.

Be a Largest Heart

We are turning this notion upside down!

Don’t let it ever be said that we are not thinking out of the box! This year, at Largest Heart, we are starting a new initiative.

Introducing our very first 5k fun run to save a life

We say yes to a new kind of scholarship
All the proceeds of our 5k fun walk/run on the 7th of September this year, will go to provide a scholarship (or two!) for troubled youth.

Our scholarship is different, though. It won't buy your books or pay for your tuition.

The Largest Heart scholarship will go toward helping a young person to really get help.

Whether it is for mental illness, to get out of depression or to curb an addiction – it has the potential to turn a life around. We want to spread light and knowledge. With your help, we know we can do it!

Join us
Join us on the 7th of September 2019, and let's save a life together! You can also donate here, on this website.

Largest Heart is a 501c3 non-profit organization posed to make a difference. Your donations are even tax-deductible!

Conclusion
For Andrew
Peter Cook started Largest Heart in memory of his brother, Andrew who really tried to make a difference to the people around him. Andrew would have loved the resourcefulness of this initiative!

Healing starts here

We want to heal young people from the inside out. If we can give them tools and resources to help them cope – isn’t that the best kind of scholarship you can think of? A scholarship that can literally turn someone’s life around.

How incredible is that?

Please look for the details on our 5k fun walk/run elsewhere on this website. You are also welcome to contact us for more information. Let’s pledge change – one (fun) step at a time.
